Grant Knott of Red Wing was elected as chief justice during a Boys State program last week at Southwest Minnesota State University. Knott, who attends Red Wing High School, was sponsored by the American Legion Post No. 54 in Red Wing.

“These young men have been deemed by their peers to possess the highest leadership qualities,” Mike Bredeck, director of the program, said of those elected to the various positions.

Boys State is a program sponsored by the American Legion Department of Minnesota that teaches government and leadership through activities that mimic the process of state government, organizers said.
