Local group will give amateur radio demonstration
The Red Wing Area Hams, a group of amateur radio operators, will provide a demonstration of amateur radio at Memorial Park June 23 and 24.
The Red Wing Area Hams, a group of amateur radio operators, will provide a demonstration of amateur radio at Memorial Park June 23 and 24.
The radio operators provide backup communications for emergency situations without the use of phone systems, internet or other infrastructure that is often compromised in a crisis.
The public is welcome to attend the local “field day” event and see amateur radio’s new capabilities, as well as learn how to get their own FCC radio license.
