Red Wing bounced back for an 8-4 victory Wednesday over Lake City in Red Wing.
Adam Thygesen went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored for the Aces, who picked up their second win in last 10 games. Steve Boldt went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Dustin LaRue and Josh Thygesen added RBI.
Tyler Goering got the victory for the Aces in relief of starter JT Cunningham. Goering threw two innings and allowed one run on three hits. Cunningham lasted 3 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on six hits, walked four and struck out three.
Red Wing grabbed a 3-0 lead in the third inning only to hand it back in the top of the fourth when the Serpents rallied for three runs to tie the game. The Aces went ahead 4-3 in the fourth and added a run in the fifth. But Lake City cut it to 5-4 in the sixth before Red Wing added three runs in the seventh.
Brandon Gosse started for the Serpents and took the loss after four innings. Gosse allowed five runs, two earned, on five hits. Gosse walked five and struck out two.
The two teams combined for 16 walks and four hitters were hit by a pitch.
Jordan Rishavy hit a home run for Lake City and went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Zach Wolfe was 2-for-5 with a run and Mitch Anderson went 2-for-4.
Both teams stranded 14 base runners.
