Drotos to run for Goodhue County Board

Red Wing resident Paul Drotos announced Tuesday he will run for District 5 Goodhue County commissioner.

“We need innovation in government services like we have never seen before,” Drotos said. “Short-term budget fixes are less viable and less available, so we must plan ahead and focus more on outcomes.”

Drotos said he wants more collaboration with local city and township governments to eliminate service duplication. He also wants to reduce county commissioners’ pay.

“It is time to redesign Goodhue County government to reflect our changing demographics,” he added. “As more of the baby boom generation reach retirement age, there will be fewer tax revenues.”

Drotos works for the city of Red Wing and will face current Commissioner Ted Seifert.
