A team of five students from Goodhue High School finished fifth at the state Envirothon competition in Savage, Minn., May 21.

The Goodhue Purple team — made up of seniors Jared Luhman and Mitch Lamoreux and juniors Libby Mills, Christyn Hokanson and Paige Hokanson — earned the chance to compete at the state level by winning the region seven competition earlier this month. While the team won’t get to advance to the national level, they were able to improve on the ninth-place finish they earned at state last year.

The team is coached by Goodhue High School science teacher Matt Halverson.
