Boys Golf: Ellsworth's Kulow advances to sectional tourney

Three players from Pierce County will compete in WIAA sectional golf meets next week as they qualified from regional meets held Tuesday.

Ellsworth's Chrystian Kulow in Division 2 and Spring Valley's Jacob Richardson and James Hannack will see their seasons extended in next week's sectional meets, Division 2 at Amery and Division 3 at Colfax. All three were individual qualifiers not on a sectional qualifying team.

Kulow shot an 86 to tie for ninth in the D-2 Somerset Regional meet at Somerset's Bristol Ridge Golf Course.

Hannack shot a 94 and Richardson a 95 to qualify in the D-3 Siren Regional meet at Siren National Golf Course. They finished 11th and 13th respectively and Richardson had to beat out teammate Nick Jensen in a tiebreaker for the final spot to sectionals.

Ellsworth placed sixth as a team with a score of 365 out of 11 schools while Prescott was 10th with a 407. Spring Valley was sixth out of eight schools with a score of 385.
