Fallen tree causes power outages

A tree that fell on Cherry Street on Tuesday night left some Red Wing residents without power for hours.

The tree, which fell at a property in the 100 block of the street, took down power lines, setting off a power outage at 10:50 p.m. About 2,079 customers in Red Wing were affected for various amounts of time, an Xcel Energy spokesman said. The final customers were back in service at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday.
