Baseball: Tigers win regular season finale

Lake City won 4-2 against Byron Monday in the regular season finale in Byron.

The Tigers racked up 10 hits in the win and held Byron scoreless after the first inning.

Junior Logan Thomas pitched a complete game for Lake City (15-5, 10-2 HVL), allowing seven hits and one walk. He struck out three. Sophomore Elliot Cox finished 3-for-4 to lead the Tigers. Sophomore Reid Lundell was 2-for-4 with an RBI, junior Jake Griebenow went 2-for-3 and senior Austen Poss was 1-for-3 with a double.

Jack Nelson was 2-for-3 with a double to lead Byron. Matt Dammen threw all seven innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out seven.

Lake City will play Stewartville in the HVL championship game Thursday at 7 p.m. in Lake City.
