Boys Tennis: Lake City knocked out of Section 1A playoffs

Lake City was eliminated from the Section 1A team tournament in a 5-2 loss to New Life Academy/St. Croix Lutheran Monday in St. Paul.
The Tigers were swept in singles but grabbed wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Sophomore Alex McCormick and junior Andrew Schreck won their match against Ben Nguyen and Kento Hashimoto 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles while eighth-graders Eli Custer and Matthue Kjos won at No. 3 doubles 6-7 (7-5), 6-2, 6-4 against Roger Zhang and Zach Rogness.
Section 1A individual competition begins Thursday.
