Amateur Baseball: Dundas scores walk-off win against Red Wing

The Red Wing Aces lost 3-2 on a walk-off Friday night against the Dundas Dukes in Dundas.

The Red Wing Aces lost 3-2 on a walk-off Friday night against the Dundas Dukes in Dundas.

Rich Bordas came on as a pinch hitter with two outs in the ninth inning and delivered the game-winning RBI single to score Steve Loos and give the Dukes a victory.

The Aces (3-1) tallied 10 hits but left nine runners on base.

Aaron Johnson pitched 8 2/3 innings for Red Wing, allowing two earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out seven. Adam Thygesen went 2-for-5 with an RBI and Jordan Warren was 2-for-4 to lead the Aces.

Carson Jones finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Dundas. Todd Mathison was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

The Dukes took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on an error by Red Wing but the Aces came back in the second inning with two runs of their own on three hits. Ryan Boldt hit a double to lead off the inning, Tyler Goering doubled him in two batters later and Thygesen brought Goering home on a single to pull ahead 2-1.

Dundas tied it back up in the third inning on an RBI single by Mathison to score Jones.

Red Wing hosts Cannon Falls at 2 p.m. Sunday in Red Wing..
