Whatley-Mercer wedding

Rebecca Erlene Whatley of Mobile, Ala., and Anthony Joseph Mercer of Bay City were married Saturday April 14, 2012, at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Saraland, Ala. Jamie Taylor of Saraland, Ala., officiated.

The bride’s parents are Tina Whatley, Jamie and Lisa Whatley, all of Mobile. He is the son of Bonnie Mercer and the late Ralph Mercer of Bay City.

Matron of honor was Hannah Simmneau of Mobile. Bridesmaids were Bethany Whatley of Saraland, cousin of the bride; and Julie Anna Daniel of Mobile, sister of the bride.

Best man was Justin Mercer of Green Burnie, Ala., brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Josh Thomas and Sean O’Rourke, both from El Centro, Calif.

She is a 2005 graduate from Satsuma High School in Mobile and is stationed in San Diego, Calif., with the U.S. Navy. He is a 2006 graduate of Ellsworth High School and is stationed in El Centro, Calif., with the U.S. Navy.

A reception was also held at the First Covenant Church in Red Wing.
