Errors plagued Goodhue as the Wildcats dropped two games at the Stewartville Invitational Friday night in Stewartville.
Goodhue committed six errors in each game.
In game one, the Wildcats (1-12, 0-7 HVL) lost 10-0 in five innings to Stewartville.
Sophomore Adam Dahlstrom tallied Goodhue’s lone hit and finished 1-for-1.
Tyler Schmitz pitched all five innings for the Tigers, striking out six. Robby Campbell went 1-for-3 with a double and Brady Gross was 1-for-2 with a double.
The Wildcats’ offense showed up in game two but Houston won on a walk-off squeeze bunt in an 11-10 victory.
Goodhue finished with 10 hits and Houston made 11 errors but the Wildcats kept leaving runners in scoring position, Goodhue head coach Eric Schofield said.
Senior Kyle Diercks came on in relief for the Wildcats and pitched 5 1/3 strong innings, Schofield said. He allowed two earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out five. He also went 4-for-4 with four RBI at the plate.
Goodhue plays Lake City Tuesday in Lake City.
