Baseball: Lake City offense explodes in victory against Kenyon-Wanamingo

Lake City rattled off 17 hits against 12th-ranked (1A) Kenyon-Wanamingo during a 14-5 victory Friday in Kenyon.

Lake City rattled off 17 hits against 12th-ranked (1A) Kenyon-Wanamingo during a 14-5 victory Friday in Kenyon.

The Tigers (11-4, 9-2 HVL) had three different players finish with three hits. Lake City sophomore Reid Lundell was 3-for-4 with three RBI, sophomore John Brown went 3-for-4 and junior Dylan Simonic finished 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and an RBI. Sophomore Elliot Cox was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the win.

Lundell also pitched a complete game for the Tigers, giving up three earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four.

Peder Sviggum was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI to lead K-W (9-5, 5-5 HVL). Taylor Floren went 2-for-4.

Lake City plays Goodhue Tuesday in Lake City.
