Softball: KoMets capitalize on Lake City errors

Second-ranked Kasson-Mantorville took full advantage of Lake City’s nine errors in a 13-0 five-inning victory Friday in Lake City.

Second-ranked Kasson-Mantorville took full advantage of Lake City’s nine errors in a 13-0 five-inning victory Friday in Lake City.

Seniors Kyllie Smith and Alexa Blair notched the Tigers’ only two hits. They both finished 1-for-2.

Dana Rasmussen was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI to lead the KoMets. She also scored three runs. Aylisha McClaflin finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Cady Olson pitched all five innings, walking one and striking out seven.

“Kasson is a well-rounded team and has good pitching along with being able to hit the ball hard,” Lake City coach Katie Luhmann said.

The Tigers will play a doubleheader against Cannon Falls Tuesday in Cannon Falls.
