Red Wing made three errors in the third and fourth innings that allowed Shakopee to score four runs en route to a 6-1 victory Friday in Red Wing.
Both teams finished with eight hits but the Wingers’ (1-17, 0-13 Missota) four errors proved the difference.
Junior Laura Chalmers threw all seven innings for Red Wing, giving up three earned runs on eight hits and three walks. She struck out two and went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Ninth-grader Makaela Egan was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored while sophomore Mary Bender finished 2-for-3.
Julie Riegert was 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead Shakopee. Alexandria Walker pitched five innings, striking out three, and went 2-for-4 at the plate.
The Wingers’ final regular season game will be Thursday against Farmington at home.
