'Clean' guitar sounds coming to Crossings

Peter Mayer’s songs have been compared to Shaker furniture – clean and light, yet hardly simple. Mayer, whose guitar skills make playing his music seem deceptively easy, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday May 19 at Crossings.

Peter Mayer’s songs have been compared to Shaker furniture – clean and light, yet hardly simple. Mayer, whose guitar skills make playing his music seem deceptively easy, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday May 19 at Crossings.

Mayer’s songs are about interconnectedness and the human journey; about the beauty and the mystery of the world. But there’s plenty of humor, too, in songs like, “Snuffleupagus,” and “Fake Plant,” the Crossings publicist said.

Mayer has toured full time since 1995. He has nine CDs to his credit and has sold more than 50,000 of them independently.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 day of show. To reserve tickets, call 507-732-7616 or stop in to Crossings, 320 East Ave., Zumbrota. For more information, visit www.crossingsatcarnegie.com.
