Red Wing senior Blake Westerberg made his round Tuesday memorable by carding an ace at River Oaks Golf Course.
Westerberg, who had one previous hole-in-one in his career, aced the par-3 No. 4 hole and went on to finish with an even par 71 to capture medalist honors.
The Wingers finished seventh as a team with a 327. Chanhassen ran way with the meet with a 298 and had all six scores in the 70s. Chaska took second with a 317 while Shakopee shot 322.
Tyler Grove followed Westerberg with an 82 while Ross Elford and Zach Sachen each had 87. Jarrett Enevold shot 88 and Matthew Petterson had a 91.
“Tyler and Blake are clearly playing better than the rest,” Red Wing head coach Todd Petterson said.
Westerberg has led the team in its past two meets and Grove hasn’t been far behind.
“I think things are looking better,” Todd Petterson said. “We’ve been a little inconsistent, had some tough days.”
The Wingers play Monday at Chaska.
