Lake City placed first out of three teams at Cedar Valley Golf Course Tuesday in Winona.
The Tigers finished with a 331, ahead of Winona Cotter at 345 and Stewartville’s 358.
Ninth-grader Sam Klipfel led Lake City by shooting a 75, sophomore Cory Dick tallied an 82 and junior Garten Haeska finished with an 84. Sophomore Matt Glasenapp had an 87, junior Jack Falvey shot an 88 and junior Ryan Pribyl notched a 100.
“We had a disappointing showing at the Wabasha tournament last week, finishing sixth out of eight teams,” Lake City head coach Luther Berkeland said. “It’s encouraging to see the boys bounce back and play well on an unfamiliar course. What’s even more impressive is that they played in steady rain about half the time.”
Charlie Kretschmer, of Cotter, was the medalist with a 75.
The Tigers compete again Tuesday against Kneyon-Wanamingo and Zumbrota-Mazeppa at the Kenyon Country Club.
