High School Rodeo will be in Cannon Falls this weekend

The first High School Rodeo of the season will take place Saturday and Sunday at Simon Arena in Cannon Falls.

Spectators can watch high school riders compete in a variety of events in both the outdoor and indoor arenas, including bull riding, barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, saddle bronc riding and bareback riding.

Local competitors include Jami Kusilek, Wade Jacobsen, McKenna Donnelly and Brenna Donnelly. They will be competing for scholarship money that was donated by White Rock Bank and First Farmers and Merchants Bank. Competitors will also earn points toward the National High School Rodeo Finals in Wyoming in July.

Events begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
