Pepin-Alma staged a late rally to deliver a 9-8, eight-inning victory Monday over Mondovi in Alma.

The Eagles (8-5, 7-4 Dunn-St. Croix) fell behind 6-1 after the top of the fourth inning but took advantage of Mondovi miscues in the seventh inning to tie the game 7-7.

Three Pepin-Alma hitters reached on errors in the seventh and Mondovi walked the next two hitters with the bases loaded to allow the Eagles to tie the game.

In extra innings John Nuzum delivered a sacrifice fly to score the winning run after Mondovi had taken an 8-7 lead in the top half of the eighth.

Jacob Lerum and Dylan Bjork went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Cole Carroll finished 2-for-5 with two RBI for Pepin-Alma.

Carroll got the win in relief of Lerum. Carroll threw the final two innings and gave up one run on two hits, struck out three and walked two.

The Eagles face Spring Valley Thursday in Spring Valley.
