To the Editor:

On May 12, the Red Wing city and rural carriers with the U.S. Postal Service will be collecting non-perishable items for the food shelf. EconoFoods is providing bags, which the carriers will leave at mailboxes Wednesday or Thursday. Campbell’s Soup is supplying the postcards in the cooperative venture to feed people.

Carriers hope to collect more than 2,000 pounds this year, so everyone’s participation would be greatly appreciated.
