Baseball: Boyceville slows down Pepin-Alma

Zach Vreeland provided the only offense Friday for Pepin-Alma in an 8-1 loss to Boyceville in Boyceville.

Vreeland connected for a solo homer in the fourth inning to make it an 8-1 game after the Bulldogs scored eight runs in the first three innings.

The Eagles (6-5, 5-4 Dunn-St. Croix) outhit Boyceville 8-6, but stranded six runners and made three errors. One error led to two runs.

Cole Carroll finished 2-for-3 for Pepin-Alma and Jacob Lerum took the loss after throwing three innings. Lerum allowed five runs, one earned, on five hits, walked two and struck out none.

The Eagles face Mondovi Monday in Alma.
