2012 New Election Districts

Notice is hereby given that congressional, legislative, county, and local election district

boundaries be redrawn every ten years after the census. This “redistricting” process required changes and/or renaming of the following:

All Goodhue County townships and cites in US Congressional District 2 will remain in the reorganized US Congressional District 2.

All Goodhue County townships and cities in MN House District 28A, along with the addition of Welch and Leon Townships will now be in newly numbered MN House District 21A.

All Goodhue County townships and cities in MN House District 28B will be in the newly numbered MN House District 21B with the exception of Leon Township which moved to 21A.

All Goodhue County townships and cities in MN House District 36B will be in the new MN House District 58B with the exception of Welch Township which moved to 21A.

All Goodhue County townships and cities in MN Senate District 28 will remain together but now be part of MN Senate District 21.

All Goodhue County townships and cities in MN Senate District 36 will remain together but now be part of MN Senate District 58.

All Goodhue County Commissioner Districts remain unchanged

The City of Red Wing is the only City that was required to reorganize. A portion of Ward 1 was moved to Ward 2, and a portion of Ward 3 was moved to Ward 4. In addition, the City has reduced all wards from three precincts to two. For details of the new sites please visit www.red-wing.org/news/General_Administration/article410.html. All currently registered voters in Red Wing will be notified this summer of their 2012 ward and precinct along with polling place location for elections.
