Red Wing shot 320 Tuesday to beat Rochester Lourdes by 11 strokes, but according to Wingers head coach Todd Petterson there’s plenty of work left to be done for the team.

“We have better days ahead of us,” Petterson said. “If shoot this kind of score at the section meet we probably won’t get out the first day of the meet.”

The score came at Mississippi National and after the Wingers shot 315 at the Mayo Invite last Wednesday and finished second.

Tyler Grove led Red Wing with a 76 and Blake Westerberg shot 79, but those were the only two to break 80.

“We need to get out and practice more and I think it will come around,” Petterson said. “There’s a lot of time left.”

Matthew Petterson shot 81 while Zach Sachen shot 84 and Ross Elford and Jarrett Enevold each had 85s.

Red Wing hosts an invitational Wednesday at Mississippi National.
