The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Dispatch will use its CodeRED Emergency Notification System Thursday to do a communitywide call announcing the CodeRED Weather Warning System.

Calls will start around 11 a.m. and go until the entire database has been attempted. The message of the calls directs recipients on how to opt into the weather warning system via the county’s website. The system allows residents to choose the types of severe weather of which they want to be alerted.

“All individuals and businesses should take the time to visit the Goodhue County website and add contact information to include cellular phones and other non-traditional phones as well as emails and text addresses,” Emergency Management Director Diane Richter-Biwer said.
