Track: Bombers win Hayfield meet

The Cannon Falls boys and girls track teams won the Hayfield Invitational meet Thursday in Hayfield.
The boys scored 111 points and won by 30 points over Hayfield.
Zach Stiehl and Alex Bultena went 1-2 in the high jump while Nic Van Watermeulen and Chase Jacobsen went 1-2 in the pole vault.
Cannon Falls won the 4x400-meter relay in 3 minutes, 50.47 seconds with Bultena, Connor Bennett, Paul Hernke and Dustin Safe running. Hernke won the 400 in 52.30 and the 200 in 24.56 seconds. Teammates Ronny DeGarmo and Ethan Dalton finished second and third, respectively, in the 200.
The 4x100 relay team of Bennett, Zach Holes, Bultena and Beau Rueger won in 48.26 and the 4x200 relay team of DeGarmo, Holes, Jacob Kostrezewski and Alex Brummund won in 1:44.50, nearly 19 seconds faster than the second place team of Faribault Bethlehem Academy.
Will Rutter, Anthony Kane and Reas Sessions put together a 1-2-3 finish in the 300 hurdles. Rutter won in 47.68. The same trio also went 1-2-3 in the 100 hurdles.
The girls team won 13 events to score 112 points and win the meet by 34 points over Hayfield.
Emi Trost won the 1,600 and the 3,200 while all four relays won as well for Cannon Falls.
Tia Fields and Jackie Qualle finished 1-2 in the 100 hurdles while Silka Ritzman won the 300 hurdles.
Allison Egge won the shot put with a toss of 29 feet, 7 inches and the discus with a throw of 89 feet, 4 inches. Jesslyn Hendrickson and Leah Meyers placed second and third, respectively, in the discus.
Sveta Mason won the pole vault by clearing 10 feet and Amanda Anderson placed second.
Mada Hofstedt won the long jump with a jump of 14-11.
