Softball: Goodhue falls to No. 4 Kasson-Mantorville

Fourth-ranked Kasson-Mantorville tallied 14 hits in a 16-1 victory against Goodhue Thursday in Goodhue.

Fourth-ranked Kasson-Mantorville tallied 14 hits in a 16-1 victory against Goodhue Thursday in Goodhue.

The KoMets (10-0, 8-0 HVL) scored nine runs in the first three innings and added six more in the final inning. K-M did not make an error in the game.

Junior Paige Gadient scored the lone run for the Wildcats (3-6, 1-6 HVL) after a leadoff triple in the first inning and finished 1-for-3. Junior Ashlyn Stecklein was also 1-for-3 with an RBI single that followed Gadient’s triple. Goodhue had three hits and four errors in the loss.

Madison Damon was the winning pitcher for the KoMets, throwing a complete game and striking out 15. She was also 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Cori Kennedy had a big game at the plate for K-M, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI and scoring three runs. Kaylea Schorr was 3-for-5 with a double, triple and four RBI.

The Wildcats face La Crescent Monday in Goodhue.
