Third-ranked Pepin-Alma gave up seven hits to Spring Valley/Plum City Thursday but few did any damage in an 11-1, five-inning victory in Pepin.

The Eagles (8-1, 7-0 Dunn-St. Croix) tallied eight runs in the third inning to go up 9-0 and added two runs in the fourth inning to lead 11-0 before Spring Valley/Plum City got on the board in the fifth inning.

Pepin-Alma’s Ali Murray went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Sophia Reidt finished 2-for-3 with an RBI. Mikaela Dusek had a two-run double and went 1-for-3.

The Eagles played flawlessly on defense and that helped limit Spring Valley/Plum City’s chances offensively.

“We played perfect on defense and that’s what we care about most as coaches,” Pepin-Alma head coach Matt Bellerive said.

Spring Valley/Plum City had three errors in the game and two of them came in the third inning. Spring Valley/Plum City also walked two and hit a batter in the inning.

The Eagles play next Thursday in Pepin against Glenwood City.
