Softball: Goodhue extends win streak to three

Goodhue picked up its first two wins Saturday in Lake City and made it three victories in a row Monday with a 6-2 win over Lake City in Goodhue.

The Wildcats (3-5, 1-5 HVL) pounded out 12 hits and got going in the first inning with four runs. Goodhue added single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to keep a comfortable lead.

The Tigers (4-4, 2-3 HVL) drew the game to 4-2 after the third inning, but Wildcats pitcher Emilee Roschen held them in check the rest of the way. Roschen allowed two unearned runs on four hits, walked one and struck out one.

Meredith Watson led Goodhue at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance and one RBI. Roschen went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI while Emily Ryan drove in two runs and finished 2-for-3. Paige Gadient went 2-for-3 with two runs.

The Wildcats face Kasson-Mantorville Thursday while Lake City faces Rochester Lourdes Thursday in Rochester.
