If you love glee, you'll love MacPhail Community Youth Choir, Widespot spokesmen promise. The choir will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday April 28.
Led by teaching artist J.D. Steele, the choir explores many genres of music, including jazz, gospel, pop and East African. Steele became part of the Minnesota music scene in the mid-1980s. He has written, produced, performed, and recorded with Prince, Donald Fagen, George Clinton Mavis Staples. He has performed on stages around the world.
His direction of the MacPhail Community Youth Choir reflects his passion for bringing the life-changing effect of music to kids who might not otherwise have it in their lives.
"When kids have the opportunity to shine, they reflect it back bright and shiny,” he said.
