Baseball: Lake City piles on hits in victory against Goodhue

The Lake City baseball team pounded out 17 hits in a 14-6 victory against Goodhue Tuesday in Goodhue.

The Lake City baseball team pounded out 17 hits in a 14-6 victory against Goodhue Tuesday in Goodhue.

Junior Dylan Simonic and Ben Schramski each went 3-for-4 for the Tigers (3-2, 3-1 HVL). Schramski also had two RBI. Sophomore Reid Lundell was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double and junior Nick Oeltjen finished 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Sophomore Josh Brown got the win on the mound for Lake City, throwing four innings, giving up four runs (two earned), three hits and three walks while striking out two.

Andy Johnson, a junior, got the loss for Goodhue (0-3, 0-3 HVL) but collected two hits at the plate and scored two runs. Sophomore Adam Dahlstrom was 2-for-2 with two RBI and Alex Weckerling ended 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The Wildcats are on the road against Cannon Falls Thursday and Lake City hosts Pine Island for a doubleheader Saturday.
