Track: Plum City girls win Eleva-Strum meet

The Plum City girls track and field team won the 10-team Eleva-Strum Invitational Tuesday behind five second-place finishes.
Sarah Gilles gave the Blue Devils their only victory in the 300-meter hurdles. Gilles finished in 51 seconds.
Plum City had three relays place second. Gilles, Marah Boyer, Kaitlyn Lee and Elaina Danzinger finished second in the 4x400 relay in a time of 4:25.3. Gilles, Heather Von Holtum, Shelby Kannel and Becky Hartung took second in the 4x800 in 10:40.9 and the 4x200 relay team of Boyer, Lee, Jessica Olson and Morgan Sweeney finished second in 1:55.2.
Danzinger placed second in the 800 in 2:29.2, coming a half second within the school record and Boyer took second in the triple jump with a jump of 31 feet.
The Plum City boys finished seventh and had Chase Lanz place in the hurdles.
Lanz took third in the 300 hurdles in 44.2 and finished fourth in the 110 hurdles.
Alex Boyer tied for fifth in the high jump by clearing 5 feet and ran a leg of the 4x400 relay team of Lanz, Tristan Bagley and Seth Jones, which finished fifth in 3:58.7.
Plum City heads to Colfax Thursday for its next meet.
