Softball: Second-ranked Z-M routs Lake City

Zumbrota-Mazeppa dominated Lake City Friday in a 22-0, five-inning victory in Lake City.

The second-ranked Cougars (4-0, 4-0 HVL) pounded out 20 hits and two home runs. Carley Henning went 3-for-5 with three doubles and four RBI. Nasha Reuter went 2-for-4 with two RBI while Megan Nelson finished 3-for-4 with four runs and Lydia Wagner went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and one RBI. Amber Jentsch went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Henning earned the win and gave up just two hits in five innings. Henning walked none and struck out three.

“Z-M in a great hitting team and if you give them a good pitch they can put a game away fast,” Tigers head coach Katie Luhmann said.
