Track: Lake City girls take third at Triton

The Lake City girls track and field team finished third Tuesday at the No Frills meet at Triton High School in Dodge Center.
The Tigers scored 111 points. K-M won with 290.5 and Pine Island took second with 132. Triton finished fourth with 63.5 points.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Bailey Cronin, Alicia Kjos, Taylor Koller and Braeden McElmury won the event in 1:55.15 and set a meet record for Lake City.
Maggie Balow finished second in the 1,600 with a time of 5:59.82.
Kjos took second in the 800 and broke a meet record with her time of 2:36.46.
Miranda Jacobson placed second in the shot put with a throw of 27 feet, 5 inches. Mariah Denzer finished fourth with a toss of 26-7.
Kristine Novak took second in the pole vault.
Trista Bremer placed second in the triple jump by going 30 feet, 2 inches.
Hannah Alitz and Becca Goertzen finished third and fourth, respectively in the high jump.
Koller took third in the 400 with a time of 1:05.32.
Kaylee Becker took third in the long jump by going 13 feet, 11 inches.
Tigers boys take fourth
The Lake City boys track and field team placed fourth with 93 points.
Shane Siewert took second in the pole vault and Gabe Schulz took second in the shot put.
Nick Sievers placed third in the 3,200 in 11:36.03. Alex Schmidt took third in the 200 in 24.89. Antonio Sprout finished second in the 800 in 2:18.16. Schmidt also placed second in the 400 in 56.21
The Tigers scored 93 points and placed just behind Triton, which scored 96 points. K-M won with 243 points and PI took second with 162.
