Red Wing Area Seniors briefs

April 4, 2012.

The Red Wing Area Senior Center is located in the Fairview Red Wing Professional Building and Community Center. All events listed are held at the Senior Center unless otherwise noted. Phone number is 651-267-3599.

Computer classes

Bring your questions to instructors Judy and Tom Walsh at 1 p.m. Tuesday April 10. The two will talk about Facebook, emails, attachments, how to search the Internet and more. Class size is limited so each participant has a laptop computer to use. Cost is $10 members, $15 nonmembers. Call to register at 651-267-3599.

Men as caregivers

The Senior Center is offering a caregiver support group just for men, facilitated by Nick Even at 9 a.m. Thursday April 12. Caregiving can be a lonely occupation for both men and women, but perhaps more so for men because some believe that society expects them to be confident, assertive, courageous and not to share their feelings readily.

If you are interested, please call Robin Wipperling at 651-385-3456.

Lunch and Learn

Brad Mader and Rachel will present “What to Know about Coumadin” at noon Thursday April 12. The goal is to help people understand its use and reduce the chance of complications. There will be time to have questions answered.

A light lunch will be served. Cost $3 members, $4 nonmembers. Register for this class at 651-267-3599.

Dance to the Ray Sands

All ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Red Wing Elks Club from 6 to 9:30 p.m. for a senior dance with live music. Cost $7.
