Teen injured in horseback riding accident
A Pierce County teen was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul following a horseback riding accident that left him with undetermined injuries, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported.
A Pierce County teen was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul following a horseback riding accident that left him with undetermined injuries, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Ronald Durkee Jr., 15, of Ellsworth Township, was riding a horse in his yard around 7 p.m. Wednesday when the horse reared up and fell over backward, landing on Durkee. He was initially taken by ground ambulance, then transferred to air ambulance in Ellsworth and flown to St. Paul.
Ellsworth EMS and North Memorial Air Care assisted with the incident.
