Come join Curtis Teague and Loretta Simonet at a special “Double Anniversary” concert at 8 p.m. Saturday March 31 at Oak Center General Store.

The popular Minneapolis folk and Celtic music duo, known as Curtis & Loretta, will celebrate 35 years of performing together and 25 years of marriage.

It was Feb. 11, 1987, the two married in Santiago, Mexico. This spring marks the 35th anniversary of their first gig together, played at Schiavo’s in Santa Cruz, Calif.

The duo has been acclaimed across the nation for its harmonies, skill on an array of instruments including Celtic harp, mandocello, mandolin, guitars, clawhammer banjo and National steel ukulele as well as winning stage presence.

For many years, the twosome has crisscrossed the country to deliver its brand of folk singer/songwriter music at folk festivals, folk clubs, and universities.

Cutis & Loretta has shared billings with Vassar Clements, Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Greg Brown and Holly Near, to name just a few.

But your classmates are blatantly cheating, time is passing, and when you reach the essay question — it’s in Chinese…things aren’t going to get better…”
