UPDATE: Highway 61 in Lake City reopens, will close again Wednesday

Highway 61 in Lake City is now open after two hours of closure this afternoon, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Highway 61 in Lake City is now open after two hours of closure this afternoon, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Highway 61 had been closed in both directions due to a water main break.

The road will close again on March 21 beginning at 7 a.m. so crews can repair the water main.

Detour Highway 61 southbound:

West on Dakota Street, south on Oak Street and back to Highway 61 southbound.

Detour Highway 61 northbound:

North on Oak Street, east on Wisconsin Street and back to Highway 61 northbound.
