This is Sunshine Week, a national initiative to promote dialogue about the importance of open government and freedom of information. Participants include news media, civic groups, libraries, nonprofits and schools.
Citizens, this is your week. Take a few minutes to remember that in a government of, by and for the people you have a right to know what your governments — local, state and national — are doing and why.
