Spotlight event

Spend your St. Patrick’s Day at Stoney End Harps with harpist and instructor Sunita Staneslow.

Staneslow was raised in St. Paul and studied at the MacPhail Center for Music with Frances Miller and Lynne Aspnes. She received a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a master’s at the Manhattan School of Music.

She has led a life full of music, teaching harp at Gustavus Adolphus College and serving as principal harpist for the Jerusalem Symphony. Her pursuit of Jewish music led to a McKnight Foundation Performing Arts Fellowship in 1998. Staneslow has performed with the Minnesota Opera and works as a therapeutic harpist with two hospitals.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. for those who are interested in learning the art of creating soothing sounds with the harp. Staneslow will lead two workshops, “Soothing Sounds,” and “The Power of the Left Hand.” Bring your instrument, a chromatic tuner, tuning key and music stand.
