Letter: Let objectivity reign in Wabasha

Fortunately, the Supreme Court has dismissed all allegations against Wabasha County Commissioner Deb Roschen.

To the Editor:

Fortunately, the Supreme Court has dismissed all allegations against Wabasha County Commissioner Deb Roschen. Unfortunately, this effort was a mean-spirited attack on Roschen and an attempt to sabotage the county’s strategic plan.

The lesson learned is that as citizens, we should personally investigate the facts before signing anything. In this case, a handful of people mislead uninformed citizens with no good outcome, only bad.

On March 1, the court-appointed Wabasha County Government Study Commission will begin meeting. Their charge, directed by District Court Judge Walters, is to “conduct an objective study” making “findings and recommendations that are fact-based” and “not eschewed by personal or partisan biases.”

I encourage all citizens of Wabasha County to keep this directive in mind as this commission works to objectively carry out their duties; there should be no predetermined outcomes.
