Spotlight: St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra concert
The public is invited to hear the St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra concert at 3 p.m. Sunday March 4 at William Abbott Concert Hall, Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on the University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus.
The public is invited to hear the St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra concert at 3 p.m. Sunday March 4 at William Abbott Concert Hall, Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on the University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus.
Featured artists are Kathleen and Angela Lamb on violin with the Bach Double Concerto; Laurie Wyland on the Concertino by Cecil Chaminade; and Max Vittulo (n Bach’s E Major Violin Concerto.
Other selections include familiar favorites “William Tell Overture,” “March of the Meistersingers” and Dvorak’s Scherzo from Symphony No. 7, plus “Harry and the Goblet of Fire.”
The 45-member orchestra is directed by Dr. Kristin Tjornehoj and serves the greater St. Croix Valley in bringing musical experiences to people of all ages. This ensemble rehearses Monday evenings at UWRF and is open by audition by contacting the director at Kristin.tjornehoj@uwrf.edu, or 715-410-7416.
