Transmission line route set
Earlier this month administrative law judge Kathleen Sheehy issued her recommendation for the Hampton-Rochester-La Crosse 345 transmission line route in Minnesota, part of CapX2020.
Earlier this month administrative law judge Kathleen Sheehy issued her recommendation for the Hampton-Rochester-La Crosse 345 transmission line route in Minnesota, part of CapX2020.
The recommended route includes crossing the Cannon River at the Byllesby Dam and the Zumbro River at the Zumbro Dam.
The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission will consider Sheehy’s recommendation at a meeting this spring. The PUC will make the final decision on the route.
As part of the CapX2020 initiative, Xcel Energy is proposing to build and operate a new high voltage transmission line, about 90 miles in length, throughout Minnesota. The project also includes a new 161 kV line, about 15 miles in length, in Rochester.
