Series of public boat safety courses are being offered
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct a series of public safety boating courses March 13-14, April 18-19 and May 8-9 at the St. Croix Marina in Hudson, Wis.
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct a series of public safety boating courses March 13-14, April 18-19 and May 8-9 at the St. Croix Marina in Hudson, Wis.
The “About Boating Safety” training sessions will be held Friday March 13, April 18 and May 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. and cover the fundamentals of boating. Completion of the eight-hour safety course will satisfy the Wisconsin and Minnesota operator requirements for boats and personal watercraft.
A boating skills and seamanship class will be held by the Coast Guard Auxiliary Mondays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for six weeks starting March 5 and ending April 9. The course will provide in-depth instruction on navigation and safety.
“The Weekend Navigator” seminars are scheduled for Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 23 and 30, July 14 and 21, and Aug. 11 and 18. The weekend classes will cover GPS, paper and digital chart navigation and an introduction on marine radar.
