Girls Basketball: K-W eases past Cannon Falls

Last time Kenyon-Wanamingo’s Shelby Auseth faced Cannon Falls she scored 37 points, but in the second meeting she didn’t have to score as much as the Knights rolled to a 63-21 victory Friday over the Bombers in Cannon Falls.

Last time Kenyon-Wanamingo’s Shelby Auseth faced Cannon Falls she scored 37 points, but in the second meeting she didn’t have to score as much as the Knights rolled to a 63-21 victory Friday over the Bombers in Cannon Falls.

Auseth finished with eight points and five other players scored seven points or more in the rout.

Courtney Woodcock led the Bombers with eight points. Woodcock also finished with five rebounds, six steals and five blocks.

Cannon Falls went 7 of 45 from the field for 15 percent. Kenyon-Wanamingo shot 23 of 51 for 45 percent.

The Bombers face West Lutheran Monday in Cannon Falls to close out the regular season. Cannon Falls will meet top-seeded Pine Island in the first round of the 1AA West subsection playoffs next Friday in Pine Island.
