Anna Rynda turned in a sensational game for ninth-ranked New Prague Friday with 33 points to lead the Trojans to a 77-64 victory over Red Wing in New Prague.
Rynda hit an array of shots and helped lead the Trojans (17-7, 9-3 Missota) on an 11-0 run in the second half to put them in control.
Marisa Toivonen led the Wingers (16-8, 6-6 Missota) with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Tesha Buck added 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals while Macy Kelly had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
New Prague took advantage of second chances and offensive rebounds to score 14 second-chance points.
“We talk about loose balls and rebounds and in the second half they got them,” Red Wing head coach Dave Muelken said. “That was entirely the difference.”
The Wingers and Trojans played to a 31-all tie in the first half and Red Wing grabbed a 42-38 lead at one point in the second half before New Prague went on its run.
Red Wing shot 23 of 47 from the field and went 11 of 12 from the free-throw line. Rynda made 10 free throws on her own for New Prague.
The Wingers had 13 turnovers.
