Boys Basketball: Goodhue wins on the road

Senior Michael McNamara put together back-to-back impressive games, scoring 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the Goodhue boys basketball team as the Wildcats defeated Bethany Academy 62-50 Thursday in Bloomington.

Senior Michael McNamara put together back-to-back impressive games, scoring 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the Goodhue boys basketball team as the Wildcats defeated Bethany Academy 62-50 Thursday in Bloomington.

McNamara had 21 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for Goodhue (17-6, 8-4 HVL Blue) in 64-38 victory against Triton Tuesday.

Junior Zach Hinsch added 13 points, including 9 of 11 from the free-throw line, and seven rebounds. Senior Ryan Bigelow finished with 11 points and four rebounds. Senior Jacob Staehli tallied seven points, six rebounds and four assists for the Wildcats.

Max Mattila scored 17 points and had nine rebounds to lead Bethany Academy. Luke Mikhail contributed 14 points.

Goodhue outrebounded Bethany Academy 34-23 and got to the free-throw line 36 times but made just 20.

The Wildcats play Byron Tuesday in Byron.
