Grants are limited to elderly homeowners over the age of 62 and can only be used to remove health or safety hazards or remodel dwellings to make them accessible to household members with disabilities. The maximum grant assistance is $7,500.
Loan funds can be used for making basic repairs, installing essential features or to remove health and safety hazards. The maximum loan amount is $20,000, at an interest rate of one percent with a repayment period of up to 20 years.
