Tae kwon do
A new session of tae kwon do will begin Feb 28. Class is Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Red Wing High School lower H pod. Beginning students meet from 7 to 8 p.m. and advanced students meet from 8 to 9 p.m. Cost for the 12-session class is $40.
Randy Ash leaders the class is for anyone ages 6 and older. Uniforms are required and available for $29 to $37.
Soccer
Registrations are open for the summer youth soccer season. Teams are formed for boys and girls ages 9 and older. Go to the Red Wing Athletic Association website and click on the soccer tab for registration information.
There will be a $20 late fee for registrations received after Feb. 27. For more information, contact Scott Marty at 651-388-0939.
Lifeguard
Lifeguard training participants must be 15 or older to become a certified Red Cross Lifeguard and certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Cost is $190. Participants must pass swimming requirements. The class will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb 19 and 20. Class size is limited.
No snowshoeing
The cross-country ski and snowshoe event scheduled for Feb. 17 at Twin Bluff Middle School has been canceled due to a lack of snow. The event will not be rescheduled.
Cheerleading clinic
Coach Aiza Albers and the Winger cheerleaders will lead their annual cheer clinic for grades K–5 Feb. 22 and 23 at the high school Courtyard Café. The group will cheer during halftime of the boys’ basketball game Feb. 24. The clinic will run 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the cost is $25. Each participant will receive T-shirt. Register by Feb. 14.
