NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PROPOSED REVISION TO CITY CODE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Red Wing City Council will hold a public hearing on February 27, 2012 at approximately 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 315 West Fourth Street, Red Wing, Minnesota. The purpose of the hearing is to consider approval of an ordinance amending Chapters 6 and 10 of the Red Wing City Code to regulate the sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. The hearing is called pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Sections 152.205, 461.12, and 461.19.

The proposed ordinance amends Chapter 10 of the City Code to criminalize the possession, use, sale, delivery, manufacture, and advertising of drug paraphernalia within the City. The proposed ordinance also amends Section 6.15 of the City Code to impose administrative penalties for City-licensed tobacco merchants that violate the new restrictions on drug paraphernalia.

Copies of the proposed ordinance are on file and available for public inspection at the offices of the City of Red Wing, 315 West Fourth Street, Red Wing, Minnesota.

All interested persons may appear at the hearing and present their views orally at the hearing or in writing prior to the meeting.
